The fix, step by step
- Owners report that 1994–96 Montero front calipers bolt on.
- One fitted Montero rear calipers to a 2002 L400 and found the brake-line port angled slightly differently, so fit the upper caliper bolt before connecting the hose.
- Match the hose port on any rebuilt caliper to your old one before you return the core.
- One owner used Raybestos EHT 530H front pads on a 1995 PE8W.
- Bleed the system with fresh fluid afterwards.
