Brake pads and rotors

DIFFICULTY 2 / 5TIME ≈ 2–3 hours per axleCOST Parts plus labor

Symptoms

Squealing or grinding, a brake warning light, pedal pulsation, or stopping that feels weak under load.

The fix, step by step

  1. Support the truck, remove the wheels, unbolt the caliper and carrier, and hang the caliper so the hose isn't stretched.
  2. Fit new rotors and pads with the supplied shims and hardware.
  3. Clean and grease the slide pins, push the pistons back carefully, torque the carrier and caliper bolts to the manual, then bed the pads in.
  4. Genuine Nissan front and rear kits each come with four pads.
