Symptoms
Service due, or an 'Engine Oil Low' message. Many owners do an early break-in change, then shorter intervals than the factory schedule.
The fix, step by step
- Put the hood in its maintenance position and remove the plastic engine cover.
- The canister filter housing is on top of the engine; an owner used an impact-rated 32 mm socket on it and needed no U-joint.
- Swap the element and its O-ring, drain the sump, fit a new drain plug washer, refill and check the level in the menu.
- Tall owners still report standing on a crate to reach the housing.
