Symptoms
Soft or perforated floor pans, bubbling rockers and door bottoms, or rotten rear inner wheelhouses. These are the areas Velocity Restorations and The Drive flag.
The fix, step by step
- Strip the interior and get the truck on stands with the doors shut, so the body doesn't move.
- Cut out one area at a time and leave sound metal to weld to.
- Trial-fit the reproduction panel, then plug- or butt-weld it in short stitches to avoid warping.
- Seam-seal and prime, and cavity-wax the rockers once they're closed up.
- For anything structural, measure the door gaps before and after.
