Symptoms
'Select Neutral' or gearbox-fault messages during range changes, wrong gear indication, or the transfer box refusing to change range.
The fix, step by step
- The transmission ECU reads the transfer-box motor position as a Gray code, so check the motor harness and its earth first.
- Then check the XYZ (inhibitor/gear-position) switch on the auto gearbox.
- Set it with the dealer alignment tool LRT-44-011 rather than by eye.
- Atlantic British has reissued that tool and published a video of the procedure.
