Symptoms
Hot air on one side and cold on the other, a 'book' symbol on the climate display, or temperature that doesn't change.
The fix, step by step
- Do the cheap checks first: blower and blend-motor relays, clogged pollen filters, and coolant level and bleeding.
- If a motor runs on direct voltage but won't move its flap, the flap may be jammed by a warped plenum, or the motor's internal potentiometer may be worn.
- Owners use a Nanocom's 'calibrate flaps' function after fitting new motors.
- As a winter stopgap, one owner unplugged a dead motor and set its flap open by hand.
