Symptoms
The truck sags overnight, the compressor runs for a long time or keeps cycling, the reservoir is slow to fill, or there's an audible hiss from the valve block or silencer.
The fix, step by step
- Remove the valve block and compressor (the EAS box is on the left side of the engine bay).
- Spray soapy water over the solenoids and fittings while the system is under pressure to find the leaks.
- Replace the solenoid O-rings and the O-rings on the manual-inflation T-pieces and 8 mm lines.
- Check that each kit's O-ring sizes actually match.
- On the compressor, check the piston liner and seal, the reed valve and its shim, and the O-ring under the reed.
- Some owners also replace the thermal overload switch on the compressor board.
