The fix, step by step
- Replace the belt with its tensioner and idlers to the factory procedure.
- Unsealed 4X4's warning: a fragile coolant return fitting on the radiator sits right in the way and can't be replaced on its own.
- Break it and you're buying a radiator, so protect it before you start.
- The 2.8 1GD-FTV uses a chain and has no belt interval.
