Symptoms

The fix, step by step
- Have the injectors tested (back-leak or flow) and replace them and their sealing washers if they're out of spec.
- Toyota's guidance, as reported by Unsealed 4X4, was to service the injectors around every 100,000 km and to avoid tuning the 1KD.
- Don't keep driving a truck that knocks, because a failed seat washer can lead to a cracked piston.
