Rust repair at the rear wheel wells

DIFFICULTY 4 / 5TIME ≈ A weekend per sideCOST Parts plus labor

Symptoms

Bubbling at the rear wheel arches, a patched-feeling inner well, or a mud flap that sits unevenly.

The fix, step by step

  1. Fold the rear seat and peel back the inner wheel-well cover to see the inside.
  2. Cut out rust to clean metal, weld in patch panels, seam-seal and protect the area.
  3. Corsetti calls inner wheel-well rust common and relatively easy to repair; frame-rail rust is a different matter and needs professional assessment.
