The fix, step by step
- One IH8MUD owner got a truck that had sat for 15 years running again by cleaning the carburetor, blowing out the fuel lines and adding fresh fuel.
- For a full rebuild, the FJ25 part list says an F-engine Keyster kit works, but its main metering rod and jet are wrong for the FJ25.
- Keep the original jet and rod, or source FJ25-correct ones.
- Specter Off-Road's 1961–62 kit is discontinued and its 1963–68 kits remain listed.
- Replace the metal-bowl fuel filter element and check the mechanical pump.
