Symptoms
Vibration under acceleration, a clunk on take-off, or a squeak from the driveshafts. Recall 19V-636 covered 2020 Gladiators built between December 15, 2018 and June 25, 2019 whose rear driveshaft monoblock joint may have been assembled without grease. Wikipedia counts about 3,427 trucks.
The fix, step by step
- Confirm 19V-636 on early trucks.
- Then grab each driveshaft and twist: any clunk or play at the U-joints means replacement.
- Mark the shaft's position, unbolt it, press out the old joint and press in the new one with new clips.
- On lifted trucks, steeper angles may call for a CV-style shaft.
Tools & part numbers
