Relocate the spare out of the bed

DIFFICULTY 3 / 5TIME Depends on the mountCOST Parts plus labor

Symptoms

The spare blocks the pallet space, a flat tonneau or a canopy floor.

The fix, step by step

  1. Pick a mount that keeps the departure angle.
  2. Ineos put the spare in the bed because hanging it underneath costs ground clearance at the back.
  3. Forum owners have moved the spare under the deck (on a canopy build) or under the rear axle.
  4. Other options are a roof mount, which Ineos offers, or an aftermarket rear bumper with a carrier.
  5. Check the jack and lug wrench still reach.
