Symptoms
The rear sits low with a cap, fridge, water and batteries on board. The front bump stops get hit, and the truck tows nose-high.
The fix, step by step
- Weigh the truck loaded first.
- For a permanent build, Eibach's Pro-Lift springs (about +2.5 in. front, +1.2 in. rear; one kit for Grenadier and Quartermaster) restore height.
- Owl recommends matching bump stops.
- For a load that changes, Dirtbox sells a Traveler Mammoth rear air-bag kit that mounts at the factory bump-stop location with no drilling, in OEM-height and 2 in. versions.
- In Australia a GVM upgrade is the legal way to carry more.
