Symptoms
Squeal from the front brakes, typically when reversing and often worse cold. TSB T-SB-0046-25 applies to 2025 4Runner and 4Runner Hybrid (and 2024–25 Land Cruiser).
The fix, step by step
- Follow the bulletin's repair procedure (now T-SB-0006-26): remove the front pads, spread the caliper pistons with the wide piston-spreader tool, and fit the revised pad kit with the new anti-squeal shims and anti-rattle springs, greased with the supplied caliper grease.
- Owners on 4Runner6G.com believe the original shims were the culprit.
- Pump the pedal before driving and bed the pads in.
