Symptoms
Usually nothing until it breaks. GXOR warns that the original passenger-side front differential support can fail catastrophically, which can take out nearby parts, the oil pan included, and the engine with it.
The fix, step by step
- Lexus revised the passenger-side front differential support for 2006, and some 2005s got the new part at the factory.
- On a 2003 to early-2005 truck, get under the passenger side of the front diff and read the number on the support.
- The revised part is ordered as 52380-60021 but stamped 52391-60021.
- If yours is the old one, take the diff's weight on a jack, unbolt the old support, fit the revised one and torque the bolts to factory spec.
