The fix, step by step
- Hagerty notes the F and 2F want periodic valve adjustments.
- With the engine warm, find tight and loose valves with go/no-go feeler gauges at idle, then shut down and adjust only those, setting each cylinder's pair once its intake valve has just closed.
- Tight valves are the dangerous ones because they can burn.
