Fitting a 2.5-inch lift and 33s

DIFFICULTY 3 / 5TIME A dayCOST Parts plus labor

Symptoms

Not a fault — the most common upgrade. Stock 20-inch tires are about 31 inches tall.

The fix, step by step

  1. Install a lift kit (Eurowise's 2.5-inch kit for the 2019-on G, also sold by GwagenParts, works with AMG Ride Control or adaptive suspension) and fit up to 33-inch tires, depending on wheel offset.
  2. Above 33 inches Eurowise warns of wheel-speed-sensor faults and active brake assist, blind-spot and cruise-control warnings.
  3. Finish with an alignment that includes the adaptive cruise calibration.
