Protect the engine-bay wiring

DIFFICULTY 2 / 5TIME ≈ 1 hourCOST Free under recall 26V-468

Symptoms

Chafed or melted insulation on the harness in the engine bay, intermittent electrical faults, or a burning smell.

The fix, step by step

  1. Recall 26V-468 covers 2021–26 Broncos and Bronco Raptors whose engine-compartment harness can be damaged and short-circuit; dealers add protective sheathing.
  2. Ford phased the campaign: 2026 Raptors first, then 2021–25 Raptors, then all other Broncos from about September 2026.
  3. Until it's done, look along the harness for chafe points and keep added wiring for lights and accessories well clear of it.
