DIY repair · Ford Bronco (sixth generation)

Check the front suspension fasteners (2024–25)

Symptoms

A clunk from the front end, or nothing at all: a missing or loose upper ball-joint nut or lower control-arm bolt may give no warning before the arm separates.

The fix, step by step

  1. Four campaigns cover this (24V-770, 25V-260, 25V-310 and 25V-308).
  2. For 25V-260 and 25V-308, Ford told owners not to drive the truck until it was repaired.
  3. The remedy is to inspect and, if needed, tighten or replace the fasteners, ball joint and knuckle.
  4. On any lifted or modified truck, check the torque on the upper ball-joint nuts and the lower control-arm pivot bolts after installation and again after the first trail run.
