Lexus GX 470 biggest tire size: stock and lifted

The biggest tire owners run on a Lexus GX 470 at every lift height, with the trimming it takes, the wheel specs you need and the lift kits that get you there.

The short answer

The stock size is 265/65R17. On a stock or nearly stock GX 470, the safe consensus is about 31.5 inches. Owners report 265/70R17 working with little or no rubbing (one reports a slight rub at full lock in reverse), and 255/75R17 with zero rubbing. Going to 33 inches (285/70R17, or the narrower 255/80R17) generally means a 2–3 in lift and some liner trimming.

Suspension Lift

The factory front springs are soft, and a 2–3 in lift is the usual step up to 33-in tires.

Bumpers & Swing-Outs

Low-profile bumpers improve approach angle, and a swing-out rear carrier gets a full-size spare out from under the truck.
