Discovery 2 biggest tire size: stock and lifted
The biggest tire owners run on a Land Rover Discovery Series II at every lift height, with the trimming it takes, the wheel specs you need and the lift kits that get you there.
Discoweb owners recommend 245/75R16 for a stock-height truck. Several run 265/75R16 at stock height, but they rub at full lock on the plastic behind the fog lamps or need the front bumper trimmed. With a 2-inch lift such as the OME kit, 265/75R16 is the common choice; 285/75R16 wants nearer 3 inches and raises gearing and halfshaft-strength concerns.
Biggest Discovery 2 tire at every lift
| LIFT | BIGGEST TIRE | WHAT IT TAKES |
|---|---|---|
| Stock | 245/75R16 | Discoweb owners recommend 245s for a stock truck. 265/75R16 fits at stock height but rubs the plastic behind the fog lamps at full lock or needs the front bumper trimmed. |
| 2 in | 265/75R16 | The common choice with a mild OME-type lift; one owner with a 2-inch lift reports no rubbing. |
| 3 in | 285/75R16 | Needs a little more than the standard OME lift (owners use OME 751 springs and reset the SLS height to get nearly 3 inches); expect gearing and halfshaft-strength concerns. |

Lift kits, wheels and tires for the Discovery 2
Two inches with stiffer springs and longer shocks clears 265/75s and restores sagging trucks; 3-inch kits need more work on props and geometry.
Fitment comes from owners and specialists; wheel width, offset, trimming and bump stops change what fits. Check clearance at full lock and full flex before you buy. Some links are affiliate links.
