2nd Gen 4Runner biggest tire size: stock and lifted

The biggest tire owners run on a Toyota 4Runner 2nd Gen at every lift height, with the trimming it takes, the wheel specs you need and the lift kits that get you there.

The short answer

31s — IH8MUD members call 31s the right size for a stock 2nd gen, and Toyota-4Runner.org owners agree 31x10.50R15 fits without a lift or regear. A narrow 33x10.50R15 can be squeezed in with some pounding and trimming, but expect rubbing at the valance and pinch weld; about 1.5 in of lift is the usual recommendation for 33s.
