Symptoms
One front corner sitting low after standing, a hiss when the truck lowers to access height, the compressor working overtime, or air-suspension faults that come back after recalibration.
The fix, step by step
- Relieve the system pressure (it runs up to 10 bar) and disconnect the battery.
- With the wheels straight, raise the truck, support it safely and remove the wheel.
- Unplug the strut's electrical connector, release the air line and remove its fitting, then remove the sensor-wire and brake-line bracket and the lower strut bolt.
- Unhook the anti-roll bar link from the strut clevis and separate the upper control arm ball joint from the knuckle.
- Remove the top mount nuts, swing the knuckle out and lift the strut out.
- To fit: leave the air fitting on the new strut, install the strut and lower bolt, reconnect the upper arm, clevis, sway-bar link and brackets, fit the top bolts, then remove the shipping pin and push the air line home until it locks.
- Plug in the connector, torque everything to factory spec, refit the wheel and recalibrate the ride heights.
