AHC height-sensor lift

DIFFICULTY 2 / 5TIME An afternoon plus an alignmentCOST A can of AHC fluid, scrap aluminum flat stock and an alignment

Symptoms

You want more ground clearance in Normal without giving up AHC.

The fix, step by step

  1. Measure the ride height at each corner first.
  2. With the ignition off, shorten the front height-sensor links to raise the front about 2 in.
  3. Going to 2.5 in means trimming the heim joint, and one side is reverse-threaded.
  4. The single rear sensor gives about 1.75 in with its mount slid to the top.
  5. More than that needs a 2-in extension bracket.
  6. Top up the AHC fluid, do a diff drop if you don't have one, and get an alignment.
  7. ATS4X4's advice, quoted in the thread, is to keep at least 70 mm of front droop so the CV boots survive.
  8. Lift too far and High mode will refuse to stay up.
