Symptoms
Coolant running down the passenger side of the transmission bell housing while the passenger floor stays dry, and the engine running warm with the heater on.
The fix, step by step
- Before you condemn the heater core, check the quick-connect fittings at the core.
- Slide a release tool of the right size up into the fitting to free the clips, twist the fitting off, fit the new one, push the hose on, refit the clip and top up the coolant.
