BigJimny's consensus is that 215/75R15 (about 27.7 inches) is the largest that fits an unmodified truck. 235/75R15 (about 28.8 inches) wants a 2-inch lift, and forum regulars say gen 3s still need some trimming even then, though a few owners run them with minor rubbing at full flex. Anything bigger than 215 really calls for regearing, or you'll cook the clutch or the automatic's fluid.

Lift kits, wheels and tires for the Suzuki Jimny JB23
The stock low range is tall, and anything over 215/75R15 needs help. The classic fix is a Rock Lobster-style transfer case with lower ratios, or a lower diff ratio from a later VVT truck.
Two inches of lift clears 235/75R15s. Caster-correction bushes are fine for a 2-inch lift; BigJimny says a 3-inch lift needs proper replacement arms.
