80 Series Land Cruiser biggest tire size: stock and lifted
The biggest tire owners run on a Toyota Land Cruiser 80 Series at every lift height, with the trimming it takes, the wheel specs you need and the lift kits that get you there.
The safe answer from IH8MUD is 285/75R16, about 33 inches, which fits a stock 80 without drama. Owners also report 305/70R16 and 295/75R16 fitting, though wheel width and offset matter as much as the tire size. 35s 'fit, but rub like mad' on a stock truck. Christo Slee's advice is that 35s work with a 2-inch Old Man Emu lift, but you'll probably rub at full flex unless you lower the bump stops. Stock size is 275/70R16.

| Stock | 285/75R16 (≈33 in) | IH8MUD's safe answer. Owners also report 305/70R16 and 295/75R16 fitting, depending on wheel width and offset; 35s rub badly on a stock truck. |

Lift kits, wheels and tires for the 80 Series Land Cruiser
A 2–3 inch lift with fresh coils and shocks restores ride height lost to sag and armor, and clears 33s. Bigger lifts need correction parts such as adjustable links and longer brake lines.
The factory running boards dent on the first rock, and the long rear overhang drags. Sliders, a winch bumper and a swing-out rear bumper are the standard build.
Do you need to re-gear?
1FZ-FE trucks came with 4.11 gears on stock 275/70R16 tires. Slee says to drop to 4.56, 4.88 or 5.29 if you go up in tire size, and suggests driving a truck with the setup you're considering first. Slee's own 4-inch, 35-inch-tire build uses 4.88s with ARB lockers.
