Fluids, capacities & service intervals

Baseline a used JL by engine. The 3.6 Pentastar, the 2.0 turbo, the 3.0 EcoDiesel, the 4xe and the 392 use different oils, plugs and cooling loops, and the 8-speed takes ZF-spec fluid, not ATF+4. Before spending money, run the VIN through NHTSA's recall lookup: JLs have had recalls for frame welds, clutches, power-steering pumps and 4xe batteries. Then change the gear oil, which owners skip most.
