Ford Bronco II biggest tire size: stock and lifted

The biggest tire owners run on a Ford Bronco II at every lift height, with the trimming it takes, the wheel specs you need and the lift kits that get you there.

The short answer

Stock was 205/75R15, about 27 inches tall. The Ranger Station shows a stock-height Bronco II on 31x10.50R15s with trimmed fenders, and its rule of thumb is that 31s need about 1.5 inches of lift plus fender trimming. 32x11.50R15s have fitted on a 1.5-inch lift with the bottom rear corner of the front fender trimmed. Remember that the Dana 28 front axle is rated for about 31-inch tires.

Lift kits, wheels and tires for the Ford Bronco II

Suspension Lift

TTB lifts use taller coils, drop brackets for the beam pivots and radius arms, a dropped pitman arm and rear add-a-leafs or blocks. The Ranger Station's builder guides name James Duff and Skyjacker, and warns against bolt-on drop plates for the passenger beam pivot.

Axle Swaps & Gears

The Dana 28 is good for about 31-inch tires, so builders swap in an Explorer Dana 35 TTB in front and often an Explorer 8.8 in the rear, then regear both to suit the tires.
