Patch rust at the quarters, floors and core support

DIFFICULTY 4 / 5TIME Days, not hoursCOST Mill Supply's 1974 lower rear quarter kit is $178.28

Symptoms

Bubbles in the rear wheel arches and rockers, soft floors, a wet driver's door sill after rain, or a radiator support crumbling at the bottom.

The fix, step by step

  1. Cut out back to clean metal and butt-weld in repair sections, then seam-seal and coat the inside.
  2. One Ramcharger Central member traced a wet door sill to an open body seam just below the driver's window and cured it with body seal compound.
  3. Another patched a rotted lower core support with a screwed-on aluminum strip.
