Td5 injector harness oil leak

DIFFICULTY 2 / 5TIME Short for the injector harness; much bigger if the main loom is contaminatedCOST Parts plus labor

Symptoms

Oil and dust on the ECU plug under the driver's seat, misfires or running issues.

The fix, step by step

  1. The injector harness lives inside the rocker cover; oil wicks out through the plug seal and along the main loom to the ECU.
  2. Remove the acoustic cover, unplug the barrel connector and check for oil.
  3. Replace the injector harness; if oil has reached the main engine loom, replace that too.
  4. Light contamination can be flushed with contact cleaner, but replacement is the real fix.
