Symptoms
You can hear the motor run, but the glass doesn't move or moves in jerks. Hagerty says window flex tracks snap often on these trucks.
The fix, step by step
- Remove the door panel carefully, since water-damaged panels are common and the clips break.
- Peel back the vapor barrier and support the glass.
- Unbolt the motor and regulator assembly and inspect the plastic flex rack, which is the usual failure.
- Fit a new rack, lube the channel, fit new mounting grommets and screws, and check the motor's pigtail connector for corrosion before refitting the panel.
