G500 4x4 Squared biggest tire size: stock and lifted

The biggest tire owners run on a Mercedes-Benz G 500 4×4² at every lift height, with the trimming it takes, the wheel specs you need and the lift kits that get you there.

The short answer

It doesn't need one — the portal axles are the lift. Stock tires are 325/55R22, about 36 inches tall. When Mercedes showed the truck, it said 37×12.5×18 mud-terrains would be available for production trucks, and its concept photos showed 37-inch mud-terrains on beadlocks. Mercedes-Benz USA says larger off-road tires can be fitted without recalibrating the speedometer, because it reads from the axles. Check caliper clearance before going to 18-inch wheels.
