Fit a rear locker

DIFFICULTY 4 / 5TIME ≈ A dayCOST Parts plus labor

Symptoms

Lifting a rear wheel on cross-axle ruts and losing drive, even with the LSD.

The fix, step by step

  1. Identify the diff first.
  2. Members say the MQ wagon's bolt-in-centre H233 (plate code HG) isn't the GQ/GU H233B, and that lockers made for the H233B (ARB RD135/RD136) don't fit it.
  3. One member gives the ARB Air Locker for the MQ H233 as RD04; confirm it against ARB's current application chart.
  4. Utes with the H260 need a different unit.
  5. Have the carrier set up by a diff shop if you aren't equipped to set backlash and preload.
