Lexus LX 570 years to avoid, and the best years to buy
Every Lexus LX 570 model year: which ones owners and specialists recommend, which have documented problems, which carry recalls, and what they sell for now.
There's no consensus best year, but there is one to be careful with: 2008–2010 trucks have the most radiator-crack reports (IH8MUD notes the part number changed after 2010), and owners say 2008s had water-pump issues. After that it's taste. 2013–2015 add Multi-Terrain Select and Turn Assist; 2016-on gets the eight-speed and a new interior. ClubLexus owners split on 2015 versus 2016: some find the facelift's tech and radar cruise worth it, others say the 2016 drives worse. There is no 2012 model year in the US.

Lexus LX 570 year by year
| YEAR | VERDICT | WHAT CHANGED |
|---|---|---|
| 2008 | — | Debuts in April 2007 at the New York show. 3UR-FE 5.7 V8 (383 hp), AB60F six-speed, Torsen center diff, double-wishbone front, six-height AHC, Crawl Control and a frame-integrated hitch rated to 8,500 lb. |
| 2008–2010 | Beware | Most of the radiator-crack reports come from these years (the radiator part number changed after 2010), and owners say 2008s had water-pump issues. |
| 2011 | — | Mild facelift with a new front bumper. First year of the heated steering wheel. |
| 2012 | — | No US model year. 2011 production ran late and 2013 started early. |
| 2013 | — | First spindle-grille facelift. Five-speed Crawl Control, Multi-Terrain Select and Turn Assist. |
| 2016 | — | Major refresh (only the doors and roof carry over). AE80F eight-speed, all-new interior, all-speed radar cruise and optional 21-in wheels. |
| 2018 | — | Two-row, five-seat version available. |
| 2019 | — | Inspiration Series: 500 trucks, all black. |
| 2020 | — | Sport package (three-row models only). |
| 2021 | — | Final year, with a second 500-unit Inspiration Series. Production ends in October 2021. |
“Sweet spot” means owners and specialists recommend those years; “Beware” means documented problems; “Recall” means check the recall was done rather than walk away.
