Fluids, capacities & service intervals

Assume a 40-year-old CJ-7 has had nothing done unless there are receipts, and remember that three owners ago someone probably swapped the gearbox, carb or axle. Identify what you actually have first (Dana 20, Dana 300 or Quadra-Trac; which transmission; narrow or wide track), because the fluids differ. Then change every fluid, repack the front bearings and grease every zerk.
