Symptoms
A dash pad split down the center or cracked by the sun. Hagerty says this is common.
The fix, step by step
- Disconnect the battery.
- Remove the instrument-cluster bezel and any trim that overlaps the pad, then the screws along the windshield edge and at the lower edge.
- Lift the pad out carefully, fit the new one, and refit the bezel and trim.
- A dash cover or windshield shade will keep the new one from cracking.
