Fluids, capacities & service intervals

Assume nothing was done and reset every fluid and filter in the first month: on a 15–25-year-old G 500 the expensive failures (722.6 shifts, diff locks, front axle seals) usually trace back to old fluid, perished vacuum lines or a skipped knuckle service. Read the tags on the transfer case and axles before buying fluid — W463 drivetrains changed through the years.
