Tyre-inflation (CTIS) leaks

DIFFICULTY 3 / 5TIME Specialist jobCOST Specialist quote

Symptoms

Slow inflation, one axle losing pressure overnight, the compressor running a long time, hissing at a hub.

The fix, step by step

  1. Soapy-water test the tanks, lines and fittings, then the rotary seals at each hub.
  2. Replace the seals and lines that fail, re-test at road and sand pressures, and check the gauges against a handheld one.
  3. One Bring a Trailer truck had its CTIS seals and lines replaced by the US LeTech distributor.
