Spark plugs, wires & coils

DIFFICULTY 2 / 5TIME 2–3 hoursCOST Parts plus labor

Symptoms

Misfire codes, rough idle, hesitation under boost. Many owners don't know when the plugs were last done.

The fix, step by step

  1. Replace all 16 plugs (the M113 has twin plugs per cylinder) and inspect the wires and coil packs.
  2. VRP suggests heavier-insulated wires if the originals are tired.
  3. Fix any misfire before adding power.
